Local Cancer Patient ResourcesCancer Resource Guide (PDF) provides a local listing of cancer resource and organizations in the Portland Vancouver Metro Area. Cancer Care Resources is a non-profit, community based service that offers support to anyone in the Portland/Vancouver area who is dealing with cancer. Our Staff, composed of oncology trained nurses, social workers and therapists, conducts personal assessments of anyone with a cancer diagnosis in order to help identify problems and help construct a plan to improve their quality of life during this challenging journey. American Cancer Society provides information about specific kinds of cancers, treatments, symptoms and prevention. American Lung Association of Oregon is the only community health agency dedicated solely to fighting lung disease and promoting lung health in Oregon. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation grants wishes to people who have been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Oregon & SW Washington supports newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients, family members or friends with useful information, opportunities for support and networking in our community. Sherie Hildreth Ovarian Cancer Foundation provides funding for ovarian cancer research, to educate women about early detection of ovarian cancer, and to empower women recovering from ovarian cancer to find emotional, spiritual and physical balance and well being. Susan G. Komen Foundation was founded over two decades ago with a promise between two sisters to end breast cancer. The Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate is making a difference as the trusted resource in our community for women and their families experiencing breast cancer.
